Its a little slow. If you purchase this turntable then acknowledge its being sold as-is with slow speed issue. We did not have a new belt during testing. Drive to this is via a polished, Thorens-branded belt from the motor.

Retail price was around $2000. This unit has been tested with one of our house test cartridges and sounds very nice CARTRIDGE NOT INCLUDED, The only issue is the speed;. Peek inside the plinth and mechanism is an absolute marvel of compact efficient engineering. Operation of the deck couldn't be easier.

At the time is was top of line for fully automatic tables they offered. Theres no shortage of torque here and start-up time is swift, even if its not the quietest motor I've ever encountered. The TP95 also includes a counterweight plus spring-loaded down force adjustment. The belt looks aged and might or not be the issue.

However, if you do this, the arm doesn't lower until manually move lever to 'down. Once positioned wisely however, its simply a case of removing the transportation locks from deck, fitting belt, slipping platter guide over spindle and locating platter, then placing mat onto this. The lever needs to be left in the 'down' position for hands-free operation. The result, if this is not too cliche d, a turntable package that makes it easy to forget about the hi-fie and simply enjoy music.

Three speeds are available, selected using a traditional keyhole-shaped switch situated on the front left-hand corner of top plate. Top of the line when produced!, Barely used, Tested, Working. Setting up the deck is simplicity itself, but it needs to be located on a solid and level surface as feet are neither adjustable nor especially effective at absorbing footfalls.
