The unit has a brand new needle that transmits sound properly. I do not believe the tone arm is broken, but rather just needs adjustment in order to operate perfectly again.

The latch that secures tone arm is partially damaged which doesn matter much unless unit needs to be transported, at time a string or rubber band can used secure it from moving. If the tone arm is manually put into place, it will play fine thereafter, just doesn start in right position.
