That means it has a decent idler wheel. They look cool though. The cartridge is strong and stylus serviceable although I would always recommend replacing when purchasing a 40 year old record player. Its official model name is VJP331 and features a locking turntable that swings down flat when released two detachable speakers swing shut for transport or storage making this small suitcase size 20 x 11 I m not sure what one would do with the you did detached them because they don't have bases allow to stand up.

Shooting for their share of the teens late 60s record player market, Rca thought daredevil would be a winner. This would go great in a retro loft or apartment with space age plastic vibe. I m not sure what playing monkeys records has in common with being a daredevil but evidently the marketing folks at Rca thought that was good name to hang on this little portable. Electronically the solid state amplifier has been checked out by my technician and is functioning properly with no A/C hum or distortion.

Balance is adjusted by separate left and right volume controls. After all, ge was selling the heck out of their plastic portable wildcat, and that doesn have much to do with playing records either.
