The unit itself shows signs of age and wear: light surface scratches, scuffs on right hand side it has approx. What you see pictured is are buying on. An area where the paint has been rubbed down to metal.
The little slide bar on top of head also moves easily. This has its four original rubber feet which spring up and down properly. There is some obvious wear to the wood inside speaker cabinet from turntable see photo.
The cork on turntable is discolored, but still lays flat. It isn't perfect, but I can understand why someone would want because sounded great, even without adjusting the knobs. The leatherette cabinet is in good condition.
Up for offer is a vintage Califone commander model 40V-9 turntable and speakers. I tested this with a 45 and it played beautifully.
The tone arm also shows some wear: light surface scratches, a couple of nicks in finish and wear on head from push button. The other spot on back right hand corner is dirt and will clean off.
The 45 ring is excellent and presses depresses properly.
I don't claim to be an expert on these so please review the photos as they supersede and you final judge upon its condition. The chassis must be complete as when plugged in it sounded good to me, but you are still buying this electronically is. Other than that, it looks good. It looks like they used a small enough bolt that fit through the original grill hole.
I see no dents or breaks in it.

The rubber feet on bottom of speaker cabinets have no chips or breaks.
The metal speaker grills have no dents or breaks, but has a screw through one of grill holes to attach smaller. As you can see in the photos, this particular model has rope for handles. The other one is a cape hart, and I don't know if it original.
As I stated earlier, it sounded great to me, but is obvious that one of the speakers not original smaller Jensen. The leather one is missing.
The power cord is still pliable and has no cracks or bare wires showing.
