Upon powering up the unit, there is 5 seconds of static, which then seems to go away. Just plug it in and it's ready to play records. No other amps or speakers or wires necessary. Make fair offer vintage Califone portable record player model 1030AV suitcase unit with built in amplifier, speaker, and eq.
We acquired a number of these identical units, and they are each being sold as found. All motor speeds work, as does the pause function. This player does them all.
All functions of the turntable are working, and it has a nice sharp stylus on it. This one seems to be great aside from the light static issues. It's pretty hard to find an affordable unit that will play 78 rpm and even hard to find one that will play 16 rpm. Total boxed shipping weight is 22lbs.
Latch works great. Otherwise the sound is great, and the tone knob is functional and applies nice eq. There is also light static and pops when playing a record.
