The Zenith B505F, a 1970s record player, presents a blend of vintage charm and audio quality. Here are some pros and cons to consider before making a purchase:

Pros:

1. Vintage Aesthetics: The Zenith B505F has a classic design that adds a touch of elegance to any room. Its retro look is an attractive feature for those who appreciate vintage technology.

2. Solid Construction: As a solid-state turntable, the Zenith B505F is built to last, ensuring durability and reliability over time.

3. Good Sound Quality: For its era, the Zenith B505F offers decent sound quality, especially when considering its price range.

Cons:

1. Limited Connectivity: Unlike modern turntables, the Zenith B505F does not offer Bluetooth or USB connectivity, limiting its compatibility with modern audio systems.

2. Potential Need for Service: With its age, the Zenith B505F may require servicing to ensure optimal performance.

3. Limited Playback Formats: The Zenith B505F only plays vinyl records, so it may not be suitable for those with digital music collections.

In conclusion, the Zenith B505F is a solid choice for those seeking a vintage record player with good sound quality. Its durability and classic design make it an attractive addition to any home. However, potential buyers should be aware of the limitations in terms of connectivity and playback formats. If you are willing to accept these limitations and are prepared for potential servicing, the Zenith B505F could be a worthy investment.

Recommendation: If you are a vinyl enthusiast who appreciates vintage aesthetics and are willing to accept the limitations of the Zenith B505F, it could be a great addition to your collection. However, if you prioritize modern connectivity and playback formats, you may want to consider a more contemporary turntable.

Details:

The handle pulls out properly as shown in the photo. It does function with the turntable varying in 33 rpm and 45 rpm speeds as toggled by the switch but the needle is missing so I can't confirm full functionality. I did have to place a clear piece of tape over the model number sticker to hold it onto the unit. It is missing the top cover and covers for the cord storage and battery compartment on the bottom.
