Yamaha has always been a world leader in the audio field. I placed some felt on the edges of lid so that it does not scratch top table.
The original Yamaha HS-800 head shell has an nos audio technical at 12xe cartridge mounted on it. The original ya-9 low mass tonearm is of very high quality and has counter weights in place. This turntable sounds great with either moving magnet or coil cartridges.
Original tonearm braided steel wire intact as well. This is in excellent working and cosmetic condition. This is a north American voltage unit.
Manufactured in japan between 1976 and 1978 this was made to the highest of quality standards. 0kg, aluminium die cast speeds: 33 and 45 rpm signal to noise ratio: over 60db wow flutter: less than 0.
The feet are intact and original to this table. They competed with pioneer, ken wood, JV victor and Sony for the top spot.
The 45 adapter is also included. I have had this in my collection for many years now and thoroughly enjoyed it. The platter mat is original and in great shape.
More often one sees the silver version. This sounds just awesome. The strobe light works and it keeps perfect speed.
Unfortunately I don't have the original box. This is just a beautiful example of the quality made back in 1970's. It has had very little use as was not part of my main system.
The lid is unique to this model only as platter mat and dark wood cabinet. As might be shown in the listing, this is an error.
