Product: YH1421 VRARE Admiral Suitcase Battery AC Power Solid Phonograph

Pros:

1. Portability: The suitcase design makes it easy to carry and transport.

2. Dual Power Source: It can be powered by a battery or AC adapter, providing flexibility for use.

3. Solid Phonograph: The built-in phonograph allows you to play vinyl records, adding a touch of vintage charm.

4. Quality Construction: The Admiral design suggests a durable and sturdy build.

Cons:

1. Size: Due to the suitcase design and inclusion of the phonograph, it may be larger and heavier than traditional suitcases.

2. Limited Compatibility: The phonograph may not work with all types of vinyl records or have issues with certain grooves or pressings.

3. Price: This product is comparatively more expensive than standard suitcases or portable audio devices.

4. Battery Life: Depending on usage, the battery may not last long, requiring frequent recharges.

Conclusion: The YH1421 VRARE Admiral Suitcase Battery AC Power Solid Phonograph offers a unique blend of functionality, portability, and retro aesthetic. However, its size, price, and potential battery life issues are significant drawbacks.

Recommendation: If you are a vinyl enthusiast who frequently travels and values the convenience of a portable phonograph, this product could be a good fit. However, if portability and lightweight are your primary concerns, a standard suitcase or portable audio device may be more suitable. Consider weighing the pros and cons based on your specific needs and preferences before making a decision.

Details:

The suitcase itself shows moderate outside wear relative to its age sold early 1960s but no apparent damage exclusive of regular usage over nearly 60 years very rare. I have no reason to believe that battery powered functionality would not be full functional but it has been tested.

Its clean and fully functional on the inside of player, no knobs are missing all dial knob functions player were tested found functional. This player was tested extensively exclusive of battery pack operation it takes 8 batteries that I did not have. The Admiral YH1421 from 1960s. Measures approximately 17 x 18 7 deep closed and tall open.

Fantastic novelty piece with quite respectable sound quality. Though this feature was not tested. The player supports 33, 45 and 78 rpm records through speed selector platter size switch.

It supports ac power playback and battery powered with 8 cell batteries in the pack on underside of player. It also supports automatic record change functionality if that is important to you. With batteries, a switch on the inside console is available to power source from ac battery and back. Or an ideal companion to record shows and conventions.

The suitcase itself closes and latches with a working slide able latch lock just above handle. There pictures are reasonably well descriptive of the condition player inside and out this is a great novelty collectible.

If rechargeable batteries are installed see compartment door under unit, there is a recharge mode. I actually hate to sell the player because of its unique capabilities, relatively full-featured functionality as a complete record and reasonably well-maintained condition mechanics for age.

I've never seen anything like it, its definitely unique in both design and functionality. The player was tested as fully functional best we could test it. It also includes a second playback needle and the original 45 rpm record adapter. A switch allows ac or dc battery usage modes.

The battery case is in very good physical condition but suitcase itself has moderate wear throughout.
