Like other 1-bit converters, JCS Perm design greatly reduces zero-crossing distortion and low-level non-linearity. Five smaller buttons operate lesser functions. For automatic editing, you load a disc and press the scan button labeled auto edit one or more times to select cassette length 46,54,60,74, 90 minutes, sequentially player then selects as many tracks will fit on each side of cassette, display shows number time remaining. Finally, a headphone jack is located just below the power button.

A row of large buttons handles other basic transport operations: two-speed forward and backward scan, track skip, stop. When the machine is not in play or pause mode, two scan buttons can be used for track-sequence editing. It also shares their freedom from drift due to temperature changes or aging and potential , which are important advantages over multi bit converters. Although not laden with features, the xl-v141 does provide both automatic and manual track-sequence editing functions, which greatly facilitate disc-to-tape dubbing, particularly if you own a Jvc cassette deck fitted compiling-1 synchrony interface. This is a vintage piece and about 8 lbs without packaging. The repeat all 1 button enables you to a track, an entire disc, or programmed tracks.

The feet are padded to prevent scratching of furniture and provide a modicum isolation from vibration. The xl-v141s chassis is made of steel, and front panel plastic with a thin metal cover. The ac line cord is detachable.
