Plays on all three speeds, and looks as if it spins at proper speed, but I am unable to verify. Platter spins freely, turns on, and will auto return. It is missing the tonearm counterweight.
I do pack with absolute borderline neurotic care. This item is sold 'as is', and I have tried my best to describe everything I saw with it there are no bumps, dings, scratches anywhere that i've seen. The screw on the tone arm is a little rusted, and one of the wires to the cartridge have come apart from the fastener, which has not allowed me to play test it even though i've been dying to do it.
Output cord and ground are clean and well kept.
I do not have the box or manual. It does not have the original power cord, I purchased the one that is coming with it through a gentleman who repairs Thorens, but it does work. The dust cover has one light scuff across the top, and a few swirls, but no major scratches at all.
It has the protective plastic still on the nameplate and auto retract plate. This 20 year old Thorens 180 doesn't look a day over I thought there was a grounding issue, but upon realizing the cartridge wire problem, i'm assuming that's why I get a very loud buzz when I tried to play it.
