This is the Technics direct drive quartz locked servo control SL-150MK2 turntable. Indeed the new deck seemed a lot swisher at time, with all controls now touch-sensitive and angled towards user front of plinth. Several adjustments to easily make it fit this or any other unit. There is a notable z scratched into the rear of top surface chassis for reasons unknown.
The low mass carbon fiber adc LMF-1 tonearm works perfectly as well. Cosmetically, this unit lacks perfection. Weight went up to 10.
Technics SL-150MK2 turntable, adc LMF-1 carbon fiber tonearm cartridge, shure n97he stylus here you're buying a super nice custom Technics-adc-shure setup. Better still, the rumble figure dropped from a good 70db to superb 78db likely due damping in its new, larger 159 x 384 453mm aluminium and wood plinth thanks new quartz-locked servo. The SL-150MK2 retained that ultra low speed brush less dc motor, although this time it drove a platter without strobe indents machined around edge, giving smoother look. Better, vibration absorbing feet were fitted, too.
The pitch speed control works perfectly. Oh, and with the aforementioned Technics direct drive motor, it should run forever. The only thing to note is that stop button has be pressed firmly work, and may by design prevent accidental stoppage, but if not switch need cleaning.
You can adjust the lens to hit anywhere that prefer. We played this for several hours in the studio. By comparison to the British mid-price decks of day, it was tonally a little brighter and didn quite have left-to-right space some, but never bad thing listen.
There was an led display to show the precise pitch which now variable by 20, not 10 as with original 199 different speed settings were available. Manuals and schematics for everything can be found online. There are two platter pads with one being thick rubber and the other a static pad see pics.
Considering its obvious physical, sonic and aesthetic superiority not to mention exclusivity, that makes it a bargain. Let us repeat that everything works great and is fully guaranteed to do so. We rescued it.
Its really nice because it comes on only when you lift the lid. The new sl-150 sounded quieter, smoother and tighter than already accomplished original, that meant a really taut propulsive sound. Also included is the light which attaches to dust cover.
Treat yourself or a loved one today. As per all high quality dds, bass is rock-solid, and theres a nice crisp Midland treble too.
This is a great combo system and you'll love having it in your mix. There is some very slight corrosion in places. These changes were actually very meaningful whereas the original sl-150 give an excellent.
Frankly, it didn sound as good the limn, although with some judicious tweaking was capable of very serious sonic. There is a 45 rpm adapter. 03 RMS wow and flutter figure, the new model dropped down to a vanishing low 0.
The 45 rpm adapter can be placed over it so its not seen see photos. Check the photos. It made for a worthwhile revamp of very nice and capable mid-priced turntable, one that has become surprisingly overlooked in the great classic vinyl scheme things. This unit sat unused on a shelf in an elderly gentleman's basement for the past 20 years.
The shure n97he cartridge sounds awesome. It has two speeds, pitch control, start stop and separate power switch, is fully manual operation no auto-return.
