I think this Panasonic Direct drive is the first batch of direct turntables ever built before digital-stepping motors become common. This Panasonic has a serial number 000234, soon after, rename it Technics SL1100 Identical to. Will double box for shipping. Direct-drive turntables are designed to minimize motor vibrations through advanced technology, damping, and isolation techniques thus reduces rumble.

Since then Technics had became the household Stereo-WiFi star in quality and sound. Audio Technical cartridges rubber stylus-mount may have deteriorated due to age. I purchased this unit new when was a Hi-Fie tech at 27 and am 77 now so the machine is exactly 50 years old.
