Embark on an immersive audio journey with the Yamaha PX-2 Direct Drive Turntable, a testament to the brand's commitment to delivering superior sound quality and innovative design. This high-fidelity turntable, equipped with the Linear Tracking Quartz Lock System, promises an unmatched level of precision and stability, ensuring every note is reproduced with utmost accuracy.
The PX-2's direct drive motor system offers an unparalleled level of torque and consistency, ensuring smooth and quiet operation. The motor's direct connection to the platter eliminates the need for a belt, resulting in minimal vibration and improved speed stability. This design element, coupled with the turntable's heavy, die-cast aluminum platter, guarantees a solid and stable platform for your vinyl records.
The Linear Tracking Quartz Lock System is a standout feature of the PX-2. This advanced technology employs a quartz crystal-controlled precision motor to maintain a constant rotational speed of 33-1/3 or 45 RPM, regardless of external factors such as power fluctuations. This ensures that each record is played back at the exact speed intended by the artist, preserving the integrity of your vinyl collection.
The PX-2's tonearm is a testament to Yamaha's dedication to detail. It features a lightweight, anti-resonant aluminum construction, coupled with an S-shaped profile for optimal tracking and reduced distortion. The tonearm is also equipped with a hydraulic damped lift control and lock, ensuring smooth and precise arm movement for precise placement of the cartridge on the record.
The turntable's die-cast aluminum chassis and damping material help to reduce unwanted vibrations, further enhancing the overall sound quality. The PX-2 also features a built-in phono preamp, making it compatible with a wide range of audio systems.
In conclusion, the Yamaha PX-2 Direct Drive Turntable with Linear Tracking Quartz Lock System is a powerful and versatile audio solution for discerning vinyl enthusiasts. With its precision engineering, robust construction, and unparalleled sound quality, the PX-2 promises an unforgettable listening experience that will bring your vinyl collection to life.
1. High Precision: The Quartz-locked direct drive motor ensures high precision and stability, minimizing speed fluctuations for improved sound quality.
2. Linear Tracking: The linear tracking arm reduces distortion by maintaining a constant vertical tracking angle throughout the entire record.
3. Isolation Tank: The turntable's isolation tank effectively reduces vibration and noise, contributing to better audio performance.
4. Built-in Phono Preamp: The built-in phono preamp eliminates the need for an external one, making setup easier for users.
5. Durable Construction: Yamaha's reputation for quality is reflected in the PX-2's solid, well-built design.
Cons:1. Expensive: The Yamaha PX-2 is priced higher than many other turntables on the market, which may not be suitable for budget-conscious consumers.
2. No USB Output: Unlike some modern turntables, the PX-2 does not have a USB output for digital recording, which might be a drawback for those wanting to digitize their vinyl collection.
3. Limited Speed Options: The PX-2 only offers a 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speed, which may not cater to those who prefer 78 RPM records.
Conclusion:The Yamaha PX-2 Turntable with Linear Tracking Quartz Lock is a high-quality piece of audio equipment that delivers excellent sound quality due to its precision, linear tracking, and vibration reduction features. However, its high price and limited speed options could deter some potential buyers. If you're looking for a premium turntable with a focus on sound quality and are willing to invest, the Yamaha PX-2 could be an excellent choice. On the other hand, if you're on a budget or require a turntable with additional features like USB output or 78 RPM support, you may want to consider other options in the market.
All four feet are in good shape. No cartridge, but two original Yamaha px head shells are included as well the extra weights. Selling my Yamaha PX-2 turntable. The dust cover shows normal wear for its age.
Looks great, sounds even better. The only reason that i'm selling is because I just purchased a Denton DP 59l turntable and also have complete Yamaha px-3 in its original box.
I will drive a few hours to deliver or meet the winner though.
