These turntables were reserved for the Japanese market and are relatively rare in north America.

This offer does not include a cartridge, but the original head shell with leads is provided. It gave out a few months ago.

The tonearm and assembly are in excellent condition. Important notes the cabinet and platter are in excellent condition.

This unit internal assembly is correct and everything works exactly as it should at a point about 1 inch into the record label. For these reasons I don't think iota major repair, but it is not something I want to mess with personally for a turntable that will no longer belong to me.

The amount of damping is delectable, from none to 5. The emphasis on these turntables is a whisper quiet motor along with the virtual elimination of unwanted tonearm resonance. I will service the tonearm lifter with new fluid 60k CST recommended prior to shipping.

This particular unit has perfectly matched top to sides rosewood veneer that is really striking compared to others i've seen. The sound is simply amazing. AK and hi buyers should check with me prior to offer end for a firm shipping quote.

Pioneer uses a magnetic sensor called a hall sensor that detects the force of a magnet that is attached to the tonearm internal assembly. I've had a good experience with the VCR converters, and have been running many 100v products without any problems whatsoever. Any flaws shortcomings are reflected in the price.

Buyer should add new fluid prior to use viscosity of 100,000 CST is recommended. The tonearm counterweight sags a bit, common with many vintage turntables. The dust cover is free of any cracks or major scratches, but does have some minor surface scratches and has some yellowing with age.

All of the turntables in this series have a tonearm damping system, the heart of which is a silicone gel damping reservoir located at the top of the tonearm assembly see photo. This turntable is in very good condition. All of the power functions work properly except the auto tonearm lift at the end of the record.

This raises the tonearm and stops the platter automatically at the end of the record.

Some of them feature auto lift up or are fully automatic. This consists of a magnet enclosed by a leading metal rail, and when the tonearm reaches the end of the record, the magnetic force is detected by the sensor, which automatically switches on the tonearm lifter and the platter stop. There have been a few inquiries as to the specific nature of the problem.
