The Luxman PD-277 Direct Drive Turntable is a masterpiece of audio engineering, meticulously crafted to deliver an unparalleled listening experience. This turntable embodies Luxman's commitment to quality and innovation, merging cutting-edge technology with timeless aesthetic appeal.
At the heart of the PD-277 is a high-torque direct drive motor system, renowned for its exceptional stability and precision. This motor system ensures that the platter rotates at a consistent speed, eliminating the potential for speed fluctuations that can affect sound quality. The direct drive mechanism also provides quick start-up and instant stop, enhancing the user's experience.
The PD-277 features a heavy, die-cast aluminum platter, which absorbs vibrations and reduces resonance, contributing to a clear, balanced sound. The platter is driven by a brass main bearing, known for its smoothness and durability. The tube-type tonearm, equipped with an adjustable counterweight and azimuth, offers excellent tracking ability and ensures precise cartridge alignment for optimal sound reproduction.
The PD-277's design is as impressive as its performance. Its sleek, minimalist profile and high-quality materials, such as brushed aluminum and wood, make it a stunning addition to any hi-fi system. The turntable comes with a detachable dust cover, providing protection when not in use, and a built-in phono equalizer, allowing for easy connection to a variety of audio systems.
In conclusion, the Luxman PD-277 Direct Drive Turntable is more than just a piece of audio equipment; it's a testament to Luxman's dedication to delivering exceptional sound quality and design. Luxman PD-277 fully automatic turntable, very nice condition. Cosmetically it is in very good condition, see pictures. Press auto-start and arm lifts, moves to the record, lowers play. I have not been able to figure out how where control auto-return, appears need a voltage setting adjustment for an electric eye sensor.
Does not come with a cartridge. The very slim arm on which small anti-skate adjustment weight slides was broken, has been repaired with epoxy, operating as it should. It has an unusual anti-skate mechanism - see last picture.
Turning speed control to 45 or 33 starts the platter. Note: no cartridge is included. Auto-return at end of the record sometimes works, not.
Base is in excellent condition, dust cover very nice, top panel good also. All functions work except auto-return at record end works intermittently. Speed control adjustments work as they should.
