It has real walnut veneer with about 6 coats of clear lacquer. I would have liked to have put about 6 more coats on it but am in need of cash due to no longer being able to work. Also has a new belt with less than 20 hours on it I would guess. Ty is dead on for speed.
The dust cover has a slight yellow to it and some fine scratching but nothing major and no cracking. Unit is very clean for it's age and sounds sweet. Tone arm comes down slow as it should. I read about how to restore it but didn't want to take a chance on clouding it up.
Make an offer if you'd like and ask any questions prior to buying.
I also have a less expensive mm cartridge I could send instead of the oc9 if we happen to work out some kind of deal. Up for your consideration is my Pioneer pl 514 with audio technical Attic 9. The base is no longer grey.
When I bought the cartridge used the guy told me it had less than 40 hours on it and i'd say i've put less than 20 hours on it. It is original Pioneer. The oc9 is a moving coil cartridge and sounds very detailed and clean.
The print on the side of cartridge is a bit worn.
