2. Excellent Sound Quality: The turntable boasts a high-quality, built-in phono preamp, which allows it to deliver clear, rich sound.
3. Adjustable Pitch Control: The turntable offers pitch control with a range of /- 10%, allowing you to manipulate the speed of the record for creative purposes.
4. Auto-Stop Feature: The auto-stop function ensures that the turntable automatically stops at the end of the record, preventing any potential damage.
5. Dual RCA Outputs: The dual RCA outputs allow you to connect the turntable to a wide range of audio systems.
**Cons:**1. Build Quality: Some users have reported issues with the build quality, such as the plastic platter feeling a bit flimsy.
2. Speed Accuracy: While the direct drive motor helps with start-up, it may not provide the exact speed accuracy as some belt-driven turntables.
3. Lack of Additional Features: Compared to some other turntables in its price range, the Kenwood KP-5022 lacks features like a USB output for digital recording or a built-in Bluetooth receiver.
4. No Automatic Record Return: The turntable does not have an automatic return mechanism, which means you'll need to manually lift the arm when the record is finished.
**Conclusion:**The Kenwood KP-5022 Direct Drive Turntable offers a high-quality sound, adjustable pitch control, and a direct drive motor, making it a solid choice for those looking for a traditional vinyl listening experience. However, its build quality and lack of additional features may not satisfy those seeking a more modern, feature-rich turntable.
**Recommendation:**If you value sound quality and are looking for a traditional turntable with a direct drive motor, the Kenwood KP-5022 could be a good fit for you. However, if you prefer a more modern design with additional features like USB output or Bluetooth, you may want to consider other options in the market. Always make sure to check reviews and compare features before making a purchase.
Also I would recommended a new stylus and a possible a cartridge.
There is a forum call vinyl engine where you can download the owners and service manuals for free. I was given the turntable by a friend so I am not really familiar with how it works. Turntable plays in manual mode just fine and repeat function and auto off works also.
The dust cover has a crack in the edge, see pictures I have played around with it from time to time and have gotten everything working. The front two isolation feet are missing but after market fee legs are readily available.
