The JVC SRC-700U Stylus Cartridge Dustcover Turntable is a mid-range cartridge that caters to both beginners and audiophiles who are looking for a decent turntable setup. Here are some pros and cons to help you make an informed decision.
Pros:1. High-quality build: The JVC SRC-700U is made of durable materials, ensuring a long lifespan and reliable performance.
2. Easy setup: The turntable comes mostly assembled, making it simple for beginners to set up and start playing records.
3. Integrated dust cover: The built-in dust cover helps protect the turntable and records from dust and debris.
4. Replaceable stylus: The replaceable stylus allows users to prolong the life of the cartridge and maintain optimal performance.
5. Good sound quality: The SRC-700U offers decent sound quality with a balance between clarity, bass, and treble.
Cons:1. Limited speed range: The turntable only supports 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records, which may not cater to those who prefer 78 RPM records.
2. No built-in preamp: Users may need to invest in a separate preamp if their receiver or amplifier does not have a phono input.
3. Mediocre tonearm: The SRC-700U's tonearm may not provide the smoothest tracking, affecting sound quality in certain records.
4. Limited features: Compared to more expensive models, the JVC SRC-700U lacks additional features such as an automatic start/stop function and adjustable pitch control.
In conclusion, the JVC SRC-700U Stylus Cartridge Dustcover Turntable is an affordable choice for those looking for a decent entry-level turntable. However, it may not cater to audiophiles seeking a more advanced or feature-rich setup. If you're a beginner looking for a simple, durable turntable with good sound quality, the JVC SRC-700U could be a suitable option. If you're an audiophile seeking a more feature-rich turntable, you may want to consider investing in a more premium model.
The little red indicator below the speed selector is damaged. Nothing major. Stylus tip is good not bent.
There are a couple of minor imperfections. The automatic features works without any problems as I have tested it thoroughly and its a pretty swift one. Just a note they do not light. Sounds very good.
Again looks like new. You hear a small rumbling sound under the platter as it is slowing down to stop. I checked the bearing and its good. I noticed when the unit shuts off and the dial is in the off positron.
I currently have a Jvc nivico 700u turntable with dustcover and ADC QM 30 Mk iii cartridge and stylus in very good shape. Excellent cosmetic shape along with the dustcover. Could possibly be a bad ground wire on the cartridge. The rubber on it looks as new and has the texture like it is new.
Does not include the 45 rpm adapter. The motor is in good shape sounds quiet. The one below the function switch is in good shape.
The wood base is in very good shape. Includes the 33rpm sacker spindle. Mainland us shipping only.
Item has been tested to be in working order. The speed and function selector are working properly. Needle appears to have never been used. Does not include rca cables.
Every now and then you would hear a hum or bad ground. Overall for its age you would be hard pressed to find a unit in this nice of a shape.
It performs as it should however you can hear it as it hits the dimples. Minor issue. Their are a few small dimples in the idler tire. They are a mere indicator.
