The Philips GF245/62 Turntable with GF-245 Speakers is a versatile audio setup that offers both vinyl playback and high-quality speakers. Here are some pros and cons to help you decide:
Pros:1. **Vinyl Playback**: The turntable allows you to enjoy your vinyl record collection, adding a nostalgic and unique listening experience.
2. **Built-in Stereo Speakers**: The GF-245 speakers are conveniently built into the turntable, eliminating the need for additional speakers.
3. **Automatic Start/Stop**: The turntable automatically starts playing when a record is placed on it and stops when the record is lifted, making it user-friendly.
4. **Auxiliary Input**: The turntable comes with an auxiliary input, allowing you to connect other audio devices and play music through the speakers.
5. **RCA Outputs**: The turntable also has RCA outputs, enabling you to connect it to a home stereo system or powered speakers for better sound quality.
Cons:1. **Sound Quality**: While the built-in speakers offer good sound quality for a turntable, they may not be as high-fidelity as dedicated stereo speakers.
2. **Size**: The combined size of the turntable and speakers may be larger than standalone speakers, taking up more space.
3. **Speed Adjustment**: The turntable only supports 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speeds, and there is no speed adjustment for 78 RPM records.
4. **Weight Capacity**: The turntable may not be able to handle very heavy vinyl records, as it is not a heavy-duty turntable.
In conclusion, the Philips GF245/62 Turntable with GF-245 Speakers is a great choice for those who want a convenient and versatile audio setup that includes vinyl playback. However, if you are an audiophile or have a large collection of heavy vinyl records, you might want to consider a dedicated turntable and speaker setup for better sound quality and durability. If you're a casual listener or just starting out with vinyl, this setup could be an excellent choice for you.
Very clean unit inside and out. This is a pretty rare unit, especially in this cosmetic condition. Looks to me like it needs greased and one spring doesn attach somewhere. Power comes on, start and stop buttons seem to function, but requires me hand spin the platter in order for arm move.
Comes with two speakers that detach and plug in to the back. This unit is not functioning currently. Both are tested working. Comes with two spindles.
A couple of the knobs on front are missing silver cover see pics. That's what I can see with my limited knowledge on the matter. I don't know much about it. Has stylus with cover.
Unit is being sold as for parts or repair.
