I do have the instructions that came with it. Zeniths are known for high quality, and the walnut paneled look that this console has is always in demand. Dimensions are: 65 wide x 21 deep 25 tall pickup is in Frederick, MD. The Zenith 960s are known for their very high quality, and sought after by audiophiles these truly some of best sounding consoles ever made.
It is ready for any man cave. But I can help load it. Any console this old will need the capacitors replaced, but considering these are probably original, unit still sounds quite nice. Most likely a loose wire or bad capacitor the cabinet has few areas in which veneer chipped off, these have been re-stained so its harder to see.
I took some pictures in sunlight which make it look lighter, in doors, its a bit darker. That sounds kick-ass. Price-wise, this console is reasonably priced. For sale is a very nice Zenith console stereo.
Overall this console is in very good shape, however, with any old there are usually issues so here what I know about one. Fm am phono ext bass, etc and the heat from your fingertip selects option you want. The good things are this. You can use rca plugs to connect your phone or tablet, get a bluetooth receiver and plug it into the aux ports stream all music from computer tablet easily.
But really, if you stand a few feet away from the console, none of cosmetic issues are noticeable. You just gently put your finger over the control want. I have attempted to show pictures of these areas this one features Zeniths instant touch controls.
As i've already mentioned this was a very high-end Zenith in its day. So those are the bad. This is the second Zenith 960 that I have owned, and am knowledgeable about consoles so please feel free to ask any questions before buying. It is the classic B960 model with louvered speaker covers for directional sound.
They have a powerful array of speakers and plenty power the record player works sounds great, but only in manual mode, I don't think automatic changer part works, regardless, it does play records sound nice console truly excellent clear, however, left speaker doesn't properly put out bass like should. Awesome actually. Many consoles from the 60's-70s are ugly, but this design is classic, mid-century-modern and very popular. This one is walnut, and the finish really shines glows well.
Not far from dc, Baltimore, Philly, or Pitt. Like all the way on bottom of console in back left side you would never see finish was recently wiped down with Howard's restore a finish, which really helped bring out its shine and remove some scratches overall has surface blemishes that are not very noticeable unless get close, I used blend those away. The unit is on casters, and I think one might be missing front corner.
All the controls appear to work well. The FM radio pulled in stations well, aux ports work, and record player works it remains a very handsome console right front edge of has some areas with chipped veneer, I captured these picture there are other veneer that hard-to-see places brand new cartridge installed so sounds nice. If you stand in front of the unit a distance away, its not obvious, but play around with balance and listen for it can notice.
Top of console left front corner has an area about the size a quarter edge part way down smaller section or two. The unit is heavy.
