Details:

I considered parting it out, as the dust cover hinges alone bring 25 on and rubber feet 7 each, but is too nice a turntable to take apart. Most Akai turntables from this era suffered the rubber mounting bushing that holds counterweight on tonearm, it would turn soft age and sags.

The tonearm raise lower function is a little sluggish.

I have the pitch control turned all way up to max, and it is still just a little slow on most records. On 33rpm, it is just a bit slow. The strobe light works as it should, pitch control works, cut function speed. The turntable works well, all functions and switches seem to work as they should.

Turntable has all four of the rubber self-leveling feet 7 each, 45-adapter new, I just bought on for 5 and dust cover. An internet search reveals the culprit is probably several of 2-3 capacitors or diodes on circuit board, which a cheap and easy fix if you are handy with electronics. This one had the same thing, so I have epoxied a plastic cone washer to counterweight support rod, then is screwed and into tonearm. I am shipping it with the heavy platter and mat removed wrapped separately.

If I have no buyers at my starting price, will consider parting it out. So I am selling this turntable as working, with the caveat that it will need some issues to be addressed by buyer. It is very sturdy now.

The issue is worse on 45rpm. I've seen these sell on European sites for close to the dust cover has a lot of scratches, about 6-10 them top are quite deep see photo, I considered sanding it down and re polishing but can't take time do so right now. Turntable is boxed and ready to go. There is one issue that will need to be addressed, and from an internet search it a common problem on these turntables, the speed.

This is a very solid and well-built turntable, definitely not bottom of the line or cheaply made. Body has a few spots where the silver finish slight wear.
