It could use a new needle, though this one plays decent. The balance control sometimes works and stays on right hand speaker, but other three controls loudness, bass, treble work okay.
There is some noise from the turntable. It sounds like is grinding slightly on something, but I didn't try to lift see if something was stuck under. The phonograph is portable but weighs approximately 25 pounds. There are a couple of very small tears.
Sears Silvertone model this phonograph plays well and at the proper speeds but has a few issues. I've jiggled the left speaker wire a little and it kicks on. The reject control doesn't work, either manually or when a record ends. The cabinet, speakers, and trim are in VG condition with only a couple small scuffs scratches.
If you're at all capable of working on this i'm not, I think it would play like new with very minimal cost or effort. The owners manual is intact but yellowed some with age.
