The Emerson Phonograph 529-9 Record Player is a vintage-style turntable that can add a unique and nostalgic touch to any home. Here are some pros and cons to consider before making a purchase:

Pros:

1. Vintage Appeal: The Emerson Phonograph 529-9 has a classic, retro design that can add a charming and timeless aesthetic to any room.

2. Manual Operation: The manual operation of the turntable can provide a more hands-on and immersive listening experience.

3. Built-in Stereo Speakers: The built-in stereo speakers can save you from the hassle of setting up external speakers.

4. Adjustable Speed: The turntable can play records at 33 1/3 RPM and 45 RPM, allowing you to play a wide range of vinyl records.

5. Affordable: Compared to some high-end turntables, the Emerson Phonograph 529-9 is relatively affordable.

Cons:

1. Limited Features: The turntable lacks some modern features such as Bluetooth connectivity, USB output, and automatic stop.

2. Build Quality: Some users have reported that the build quality of the Emerson Phonograph 529-9 is not as sturdy as some other turntables in its price range.

3. Sound Quality: While the built-in speakers provide decent sound quality, some audiophiles may find the sound lacking compared to high-end turntables.

4. Setup and Maintenance: Manual turntables require more setup and maintenance than automatic ones, including adjusting the tonearm and cleaning the stylus.

Conclusion:

The Emerson Phonograph 529-9 Record Player is a great option for those looking for a vintage, manual turntable at an affordable price. Its classic design and built-in speakers can provide a unique and enjoyable listening experience. However, those looking for modern features and high-end sound quality may want to consider other options. Ultimately, the decision to buy the Emerson Phonograph 529-9 Record Player depends on your personal preferences and needs.

Recommendation:

If you are a vinyl enthusiast looking for a classic, manual turntable with a vintage appeal, the Emerson Phonograph 529-9 Record Player could be a great choice for you. However, if you value modern features and high-end sound quality, you may want to consider investing in a more expensive turntable with those features.

Details:

Just a few marks in the paint but minor. Microphone inside right side compartment of the phonogragh 's record recorder and player, great condition. I played a 78 rpm record and it plays but sound is weak and a bit of hum too.

Probably needs new tubes. Original manual included see pictures.
