Review SILVERTONE Big Vintage Sears Record Player Model Portable Phonograph 45
Big vintage sears Silvertone model 5260 portable record player. It will automatically drop a record but the needle arm fall short of and have to be set on manually. It has several issues pertaining to use and due its age could develop other operating at any time.
It will play records of 33, 45, and 78, I do not know about the 16 setting, but am making no judgement as to quality operation. It is vintage and in as found condition, was lightly cleaned, will look even better if properly cleaned. I am no expert on this item. I have used and tested this record player for about an hour just recently before listing.
Case has wear but is sound and sturdy. Weighs about pounds this is a neat looking vintage collectible item best suited for someone who will appreciate it its looks and overlook operation flaws. It has a built in speaker and I got sound from.
Size about 19 x 14 9 inches. It needs a replacement felt record base pad since there is not one on now. Perfection is not to be expected in the functions that I test. I will package it as best can to prevent shipping damage.
It has a 45 adapter. I have limited knowledge on this type of item so may not tested all functions. It has working volume control but some crackle noise which got better the more I used it, you might want to get a new needle cartridge for.
The cartridge has a flip switch on front to adjust needle for either 78 or this is sold strictly as repair project unless you want just display it as-is. Perfection is not to be expected in cosmetic appearance either.
